Super new to D&D. I grew up familiar with the general concept/idea but has zero first hand experience until this year (and even that is really limited).
There is not shortage of modules one can use to run an adventure. Even if your were to ignore the vast wealth of material online or adjusting pervious edition campaigns to 5e, there is a decent amount of official books available already.
From what I understand the level guides indicate when you can start and where you might expect to end up at the end. So if something says 1-10 then you could start at the beginning and end up at level 10 by the time you've worked your way through all the content.
Keeping that all in mind how do people decide what to do? Seems to me there is more content than you could use. If two separate campaign books states 1-10 then you can only do one of them before being too high to do the other. We're making our way through the Starter Kit and even that has WAY more content than we expected it to.
There is sooooooo much content out there how do players and DM's narrow it down without feeling like they are leaving behind cool stuff they could never get to?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
